Currently, Honolulu Café has two outlets in Singapore, located at The Centrepoint along Orchard Road and Westgate in Jurong East.Honolulu Café is well-known in for its crispy egg tarts with flaky pastry. The crispy egg tarts recipe has about 70 years of history, with all other egg tarts evolving from them. Made by freezing the dough overnight to fold 192 layers, the egg tart is exceedingly crispy and is pleasing to your taste buds. Another signature item in Honolulu Café is definitely Crispy Polo Bun, a.k.a. Bor Lor Bao in Cantonese, meaning ‘pineapple bun’ which always lead a misunderstanding perception to everyone. In fact, a polo bun do not contain any pineapple. People call it polo bun due to its signature golden, crumbly crust which resembles the pattern of pineapple skin, whilst underneath that crunchy and sweet crust is a fluffy and soft bun.
