Sumptuous meals but need improvement on their hardware. Reviewed on 30th Jun 2023 Verified Purchase Ordered our 2nd baby full-month event with 40 guests and placed an order to rent 30 stools for our guests which is reasonable for the number of guests. However, Foodline contacted me and mentioned that Stamford only able to rent out 20 stools only ... More while the balance of 10 stools has to rent from 3rd party and it required a $120 delivery charge which is unacceptable, how do I expect some guests to sit on the floor and have their meal? Furthermore, I can OWN the 10 stools for less than $120 including the delivery fee. I have patron Stamford for a few past events although they missed out on a mini Eclair on the last order. I do hope Stamford to provide the necessary equipment rental based on the no. of the guest your customer has ordered. On a side note, now Stamford has added their T&C on the equipment rental "Additional Charges for Rental Delivery may be Applicable if certain quantity is exceeded. Max 20 stools only, extra stools will required additional charges. We are avid cooks, and would usually cook for our gatherings, but had to cater this time cos we had Muslim friends over for a gathering. The food came in two large ... More insulation bags and the utensils came in another bag. It was professionally presented and we were pleasantly surprised that they even included serving ware (tongs and spatulas). Their delivery guy was courteous. He was probably in a rush, given that it was closer to dinner time, but still he was all smiles and efficient. Though the delivery came half an hour earlier than the appointed time, the food didn't go cold because of the insulation bags. That was a very thoughtful gesture which I thought reflected on the professionalism of Stamford Catering. Our guests were similarly impressed. The portion size was decent, but if we had full attendance (we were short of 2 people) or guests with bigger appetites, I think the food would've been not enough. Our guests loved the food, with the exception of the salted egg fish fillet and the almond bean curd with logan. The fish fillet was like 3/4 breading and 1/4 fish. The salted egg coating was generous, but probably to mask the tiny pieces of fish fillet. The almond bean curd was like 4/5 water with 1/5 bean curd + logan. Even when we dumped in TWO cans (of our own) of canned fruits, each scoop was still largely water with a few bits of fruit. That was a big disappointment (and anti-climactic), but thankfully our guests didn't have much of a sweet tooth. If I were asked to rank the food (in order of tastiness), that would be: 1. Mee goreng (fragrant, spicy and tangy at the same time) 2. Korean mid wings 3. Roasted chicken chop 4. Foo yong egg 6. Cauliflower & brocolli (nothing to shout about) 7. Spring roll (nothing to shout about) The remaining 2 dishes were bleh. The key things is, the food was good enough for our guests to like it, and not that bad that it would dominate the topic of conversation. We could enjoy our friend's company and the conversation.
