Our catering was set up by 1230pm, and aimed to finish at 3.30pm for a birthday event. But the collection people came to my condo's function room and demanded that our catering time is up and they have ... More to clear away the food. I wrote demanded because the uncle's tone wasn't friendly and it was almost aggressive that every more minute spent was on his own expense. Next, our guests and myself were shocked because not awaiting for further ado or hearing us out when I said the event should end at 3.30pm, the two collection men went on tearing the red table cloth and moving trays that were still filled with food (picture evidence provided with my phone timestamp 2.44pm stated in it)! Can you imagine how embarrassed as a host myself feel?! The collection uncle barking away that he had to clear the buffet immediately. I was embarrassed, yet angry at the same time because I felt the uncle could have handled the situation better by first, not raising his voice and also clarified with myself (the host) first before clearing away all the food. Also, I told him that I have the invoice to proof that the collection time was at 2.30pm and ask him to leave immediately. Guess what his reply was? He said 'Show me your invoice now lah!' Despite how busy my husband and I were as hosts at that moment, I had to ask my husband to leave the event venue and go up our house unit to retrieve the invoice just so to prove it to him. Of course, my guests sensed the tension happening at the moment and tried to help ease the situation by scooping up all the food onto the paper plates. The scene was chaotic and until now I truly regretted hiring this caterer because it had spoilt an otherwise happy occasion! Thus, I shan't comment on the quality of food here, as it is not worth the frustration over. Book this caterer at your own risk - if you think it won't happen, make sure you have someone at the event who was as rude as the collection man. I hoped I can find an avenue to email to YLS catering directly, but I cant seem to find their email address. So thumbs up to foodline for allowing us to send and read reviews.
