"Delicious cake but terrible service"

The chocolate truffle cake was delicious. However, experience with caterer was unpleasant. Ordered it for my dads birthday and asked for it to be delivered to Shangrila resort in Sentosa as we were celebrating there. Had stated the delivery time to ... More be at 7.30pm and caterer had also double confirmed the order, including the delivery time and place beforehand. However on the day itself at around 3.30pm, received a call to ask if the cake can be delivered earlier. I mentioned that it would be hard as we would be going from one attraction to another in Sentosa before returning to the hotel for dinner and proper celebration with the cake before asking him if there was any issues. He explained that 7.30pm was not a good time as there would be traffic jam. I replied saying that we could try to make it back to the hotel as early as possible but 7pm would most likely be the earliest we can make it. He sounded frustrated and said that the traffic jam would have already started from 6pm. I was shocked to hear his reply and explained that the caterer did not mention any possible changes to the delivery time due to traffic jam issues when we placed the order and asked why is it that such a problem would arise on the day itself with only a few hours notice before the agreed delivery time. It was then that the delivery personnel replied with a "ok, ill see what i can do."
We understand that the delivery place may be a little inconvenient as it is situated within Sentosa. However, felt that such issues should have been brought up and possibly resolved when the order was made or when the caterer did the confirmation with us, instead of trying to make changes to the agreed timing as it could possibly disrupt the customer's plans.
