"Excellent service, though food quality could be much better"

While food looks good and the self heating is a bonus, was a little disappointed as was our first time ordering from Stamford and it was known to be a renowned caterer. Service staff who delivered our food was extremely friendly and courteous, even ... More helped us to carry the heavy food packs into our house. Support staff also allowed us to change to Pineapple Rice to be the same as their official online menu. Unfortunately, there were good and bad dishes from our order.

Here's a detailed review:

Baked Teriyaki Chicken Chop with Pickles: 3/10 Chicken was not seasoned or marinated, was overcooked and hard. Chicken pieces were too large and not tender.

Salted Egg Fish Fillet: 8/10 Pretty delicious and nice. Good seasoning that coats the well battered fish.

Fragrant Oat Cereal Prawn: 7/10 Pretty decent and convenient to eat as it was de-shelled for us. Though the prawns are little small and the mouth feel wasn't too great though it was acceptable. Kinda felt that there may be a tad too much bicarbonate powder added to the prawns, as I could taste them faintly though not overly excessively.

Sautéed Oriental Black Pepper Sliced Beef: 9/10 star of our order, tasty and flavourful, meat was tender, though portion was a little small. Perhaps as a suggestion, this may be a good flavour for chicken slices or cubes to be cooked in.

Egg Beancurd with Shimeiji Mushroom and Seow Bai Chye: 5/10 Egg Tofu had a rough fried skin texture, not like the smoother ones from some other caterers, the Seow Bai Cai ended a little sour at the end of the buffet

Nai Bai with Superior Broth: 2/10 Serving was excellent, though it was tasteless. No fragrance and not enough saltiness at all. Felt like your backyard garden came to life (just kidding). Definitely needs much much more flavouring, especially when this is paired with the not so flavourful Thai Pineapple Rice, it was pretty bad.

Golden Sotong Ball: 3/10 A little hard and not the bouncy kind. If you compare this to Seawaves Frozen Sotong Balls, the Seawaves ones are probably notches higher.

Traditional Mini English Carrot Cake: 9/10 Pretty enjoyable and good bite size, good taste. Glad that I chose this.

Chilled Almond Beancurd with Longan: 5/10 Taste pretty standard and decent, nothing much to comment on.

Thai Pineapple Rice: 1/10 very disappointed with this, not much taste and rice was pretty plain and bland. I don't event taste the pineapple taste. More like plain white rice with yellow colouring. Perhaps the chef forgot to add seasoning to this or forgot to fry it. I would expect more from a premium caterer like Stamford and would think that they could do better for their mains. Quite disappointed as I just attended an event not too long ago with a buffet lunch catered from another brand specialising in Curry Chicken, their mains (Fried Rice) is so much more tastier that I went back for multiple servings.

I would still love to order from them again for a renewed chance. Hope that things will improve :)
